The real-estate company has calculated the estimated worth of the White House , valuing the presidential estate at $397.9 million. Zillow also found that the White House has appreciated in value 15 percent since President Obama was inaugurated in 2009. "Home values across the country are growing at their fastest pace since 2006, with many markets setting new records—one of the reasons why the White House is worth more now than it has ever been," said Zillow chief marketing officer Jeremy Wacksman in a press release .
Of course, living in a multimillion-dollar home is not a new experience for the president-elect. Donald Trump currently resides in a three-story New York penthouse in Trump Tower that's valued at $100 million. No word yet on the estimated worth of Mar-a-Lago, which Trump has nicknamed the "Winter White House." The actual White House , which sits on 18 acres, has 132 rooms, 32 baths, a tennis court, a basketball court, and a library, among its many amenities. Not to mention the priceless service provided by residential staff.
And if you were interested in purchasing the White House from Trump (using a standard 30-year fixed-rate mortgage), Zillow estimates that the monthly payment would be around $1.6 million. The Obamas will be seriously downsizing as of Friday, moving out of the historic residence and into a $5.3 million home in the Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
